Parametric Study: Borromini's St. Ivo alla Sapienza (Rome)

Acknowledging that architecture has utilized parametric geometry long before the advent of computers, this is an investigation into the geometry of Francesco Borromini’sSant’Ivo alla Sapienza church from 1648.

Borromini’s original plans demonstrate a parametric link between the site constraints, the building’s plan, and the church dome.

This project extends Borromini's parametric logic to examine how the church’s plan and dome would proportionally change to fit into a different skewed site in Rome.
